My DAT
Score: 21 AA
test date: December 2019

How I studied for the DAT:

I studied for the Dental Admissions Test for about 5 months in total - with a 2 month gap in between my study time. My first experience with studying for the exam was during a summer program - SPEP at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. For 6 weeks in the summer, we took mini DAT prep classes from dental students and used DAT Bootcamp for homework assignments. The program really helped me find what study methods worked for me, and introduced me to bootcamp.

After completing the program, I did not feel that 6 weeks was enough time for me personally so I pushed my DAT back to December of that year. I followed Ari's free DAT Bootcamp schedule from september-decemember for 3.5 months. I took a full length DAT practice exam every saturday for the last 2 months of my studying, and I think simulating the real exam as much as possible is what helped me the most. A huge part of the exam is being able to have stamina and not be fatigued within those hours.

What I would do differently:

Looking back, what I would do differently is focusing more on subjects I was weakest in. This might sound obvious but it is very easy to get comfortable and keep studying things you already know, as oppose to subjects you struggle with.
